Tucson Country Day School is committed to the safety, health, and well-being of its students, staff, and families. With the news of COVID-19, or “Coronavirus”, being reported in the United States, TCDS Administration is closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control, the Arizona Department of Public Health, and the Pima County Health Department, as it relates to our daily operations. The disease caused by the virus, called COVID-19, is a respiratory condition that causes shortness of breath, fever, and cough and can spread as easily as the flu.
A recently released statement by Pima County’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Francisco Garcia, states, “My assessment is that the threat to our community and to Pima County in general is low at this time. We maintain a posture of heightened vigilance and continue to monitor the situation very closely.”
Health-care officials say the best way for people to protect themselves from the virus is to avoid close contact with people who are sick, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, stay at home when you are sick, cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, wash your hands thoroughly and often, and get vaccinated against influenza. For more prevention treatments visit the CDC’s website.
TCDS executes a daily cleaning regimen that includes the disinfecting of doorknobs, keyboards, desktops, and other regularly-touched surfaces. These daily systems will continue to take place while evening and weekend “deep cleaning” will be carried out as necessary.
If you have any questions, please contact TCDS Principal/Chief Operations Officer Jordan Krause at 520.296.0883 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
